The multi-phase recovery and modernization initiative at the Humane Society of Silicon Valley, located at 901 Ames Ave in Milpitas, commenced with a comprehensive refresh of the public-facing Dog Adoptions Floor during Phase 1. This initial phase focused on upgrading materials and restoring environments directly accessible to patrons and staff. The scope of work involved thorough demolition and prep, installing new insulation, patching drywall, and executing a complete repaint according to the owner’s custom color scheme. To ensure long-term durability and cleanliness, full-height FRP panels were installed along the walls of twenty-seven animal enclosures, and durable epoxy coatings were applied across the dog adoption rooms and holding spaces. Additionally, the team meticulously refinished, stained, and sealed approximately 5,500 square feet of concrete flooring, installed new matching baseboards, and outfitted the area with modern linear and flat 2×2 light fixtures. A standout feature of this phase was the fabrication and installation of a custom front welcome desk designed to enhance the initial visitor experience.

Building upon the successful transformation of the adoptions area, Phase 2 introduces a major reconstruction and upgrading effort covering approximately 20,000 square feet of interior space severely impacted by fire and smoke damage. This intensive phase involves rebuilding core operational and clinical zones, including employee offices, a breakroom, a community services lobby, animal intake and holding areas, a dedicated euthanasia room, and an expanded laundry room. The medical facility is being completely revitalized with the addition of a new, state-of-the-art surgical suite and a specialized parvo isolation space. Beyond standard structural repairs, the project incorporates extensive mechanical and infrastructural overhauls, notably the full replacement and upgrading of the building’s roof and nine smoke-damaged roof-mounted HVAC units, complete with re-framed structural roof curbs. Integrated code compliance upgrades for accessibility and Title 24, alongside high-performance finishes like full epoxy flooring in the medical center and laundry room, complete this sophisticated rebuild to provide a safer, highly functional environment for animal care.

This building was constructed by our Team in 2017.  Depot Street Pizza and it’s owners came to us with an idea to create a space for quick and quality food to serve the surrounding tenants.  We started the construction of this tenant improvement in August of 2021.

Depot Street Pizza is a New York style pizzeria located at the Morgan Hill Granary.  We worked with our client to design, develop and build out an existing space into one of the best pizzeria’s in town.

The existing space was taken down to the studs to create space for the massive electric Marra Forni pizza oven, walk in refrigerator and comfortable bar/dining area.  The build out included a refresh of the outdoor patio adjacent to Bike Therapy and The Running Shop and Hops.

The Bailie Residence

The Bailie Residence is one of the highest views in Morgan Hill.  Sitting on the hillside of El Toro, we completed a deck reconstruction, primary bedroom including closet and primary bath.  Moving from the Primary Bedroom the crews renovated an existing kitchen and great room to take advantage of the magnificent views this property provides.

The King Residence

The King Residence was a fire reconstruct located in Morgan Hill unincorporated area.  The Team reconstructed the King’s home to bring life back to a unfortunate loss of a family home.  We worked hard to get the King’s back in their home as fast as possible.  The Project consisted of the reconstruction of ~2300 sft of living space and a walk around deck with views of both the beautiful garden and rolling hills of Morgan Hill.

The Granary, Morgan Hill, California

Located on a long, narrow site, sandwiched between the railroad tracks and an un-finished section of Downtown, the old Isaacson Granary was the most prominent reminder of this area’s once preeminent agri-business. WMA chose to preserve this piece of the City’s agricultural past, while developing a “gateway” project at the northeast entry to the Downtown. We took the original building, responded to it and developed it into an integrated sustainable structure while adhering to a very limited budget of $2 million dollars.

The goals achieved by designing an adaptive re-use of the existing building while retaining the Granary’s form, structure and foundation, have been immense and in 2007 the Granary received LEED Gold Certification. The once drafty, dark industrial building has become a beacon of green design and once again a thriving part of the community.

The Granary not only houses WMA’s main office but several other businesses as well: Odeum Restaurant, Morgan Hill Times, Golden Eagle Mortgage Group, Publishing Power, Inc., Mark Grisdale-LPL Financial, SMP Tech, Inc., ACTechnical, Gloss Beauty Lounge and The Running Shop and Hops. The property also includes an on-site garden and small orchard, a nod to the agrarian heart of Morgan Hill.

Making Downtown more beautiful where the requirements meet expectations.

The project we were work on was a new office building. The Granary, Morgan Hill enjoyed using our services because it has been in business for 30 years and has gotten pretty skilled at our craft, so this project went smoothly and ended up being just as expected.

Escoto Residence

At the Escoto Residence, the kitchen was remodeled. Part of the existing wall between the kitchen and dining room was removed to create a more seamless transition between the two spaces. An island was added to create a space to gather and more counter space than before. This remodel also just makes reaching things easier as the island narrows the space to the range and stove, making for more efficiency in the kitchen.
